Petrinagirl2023-04-02Spectacular food in a hidden place!, On our last night in Mazatlan, we always look for a very nice place for dinner. We had read about Atol and decided to try it. Boy were we absolutely bowled over by Chef Daniel and his amazing second, Ellie! Every course was beautifully presented, exquisitely explained and left you wanting more and more information. By the time we got to the last region, we had to share and then came the magnificent dessert. Run, don’t walk to Atol! Chef Daniel and staff are doing some amazing things and he has a lovely family to boot! Can’t wait to visit on our next trip!Curiosity252916025052023-03-21A 5 star culinary tour of Mexico. Highlight of the trip! Been in Mazatlán for a month and our visit to Atol, near the end, will forever be a highlight! For dinner it’s a carefully prepared tasting menu that will literally take you on a culinary tour of Mexico, from the most insane chocolate mole from Oaxaca to a delicate delicious fish and shrimp tostada from here in Sinaloa. Each round came with a lovely story of how it was made, where the chef learned how to make it, and tips on how to eat it. The chef and sous chef were extremely generous to do the whole thing in English for our benefit too. It’s literally fine dining.Ldraud2023-03-16Elevated Mexican Cuisine. Best in Mazatlan Thought we were going for tacos but instead ended up having a 6 course tasting menu and an enjoyable afternoon talking to Chef Daniel. Watched him and his assistant prepare each course while he explained each creation and it's origin. Everything is made in house. We were blown away by the flavors. Best meal we've had in Mazatlan and we've been coming here for a few years. The mole was amazing, must try with a glass of red wine. Everything was delicious!Glowach_Family2023-03-15Unique tasting menu - Excellent! We were really surprised walking in to Atol as it felt in some ways we were coming into an intimate space - and it was! Chef Daniel and his staff did an incredible job preparing, explaining and informing about the excellent dishes presented and the area they represented. Everything was very tasty and very appreciated! I have never had mole sauce with the complexity of Atol’s. Delicious!!!!!!bryanlargemouthbass2023-03-14Best Dining Experience of our trip (possibly ever)!!! We found Chef Daniel on Trip Advisor and we can never resist visiting restaurants that are in the top ten. A bit out of the way (but not for long) we could tell that something great was in store for us and Chef Daniel and his crew did not disappoint. We had no idea what was in store for us and as we worked our way through the multi course event. We felt the best way to really experience this special experience was to sit at the bar as the Chef and his assistant (California native and blooming future restaurant owner in her own right) worked their magic right in front of us. We almost made it to the finish line but could not make it through dessert number 2. Definitely prepare for this experience and go in hungry and take your time. Don't miss the Mezcal margarita. Wow! Best restaurant in town. No doubt in our minds.somanyplacestogo0012023-03-09Great Mexican culinary journey! Thank you to chef Daniel for a great culinary trip through Mexico. The tasting menu was delicious and it was great to get the stories and details on each course. If you are looking for an authentic Mexican dining experience to broaden your palate this is it. The tangerine cheese cake was amazing!!AnthonyMKGFoodie2023-02-24A Grand Experience This quaint little restaurant is a must-eat if you’re visiting or live in Mazatlán. Each of the 6 Courses were beautifully presented and they tasted even better. A lovely farm to table restaurant where everything is made fresh in house, from the tortillas to the mole and everything in between. You could really feel the passion that the chef/owner presented his restaurant with. Each dish had its own story, and it was such a unique way to experience authentic Mexican cuisine. And I will definitely be back, on my next trip to Mazatlán! Thank you so much to the ATOL family, for providing such a memorable and lasting impression. side note: The sangria was delicious! And the Mezcal and Passion fruit cocktail was the perfect companion to sip on during the meal. It was sweet, with just a touch of spiciness that kept my tastebuds twirling with each sip.Tannis H2023-02-20Intimate and unique We thoroughly enjoyed our tasting menu dinner with chef Daniel, his new sous chef and his Mother. The food was creative, flavourful and authentic yet modern. The one on one conversations with Chef were entertaining and enlightening. I had high expectations (being a passionate foodie/cook/world food culture lover) and they were met and exceeded. It was a truly memorable experience. The location is a bit out of the centre and unexpected and the interior rather spare but the people and food are warm and delicious.fkwagn2023-02-19A phenomenal experience What a remarkable experience! In seven courses Chef Daniel took us throughout the various culinary states of Mexico. Nothing was less than phenomenal. Mazatlan has a number of great restaurants and I would certainly put Atol as a must.donretired20222023-02-07Experience Absolutely fantastic experience! The food was amazing, the owner/chef explained everything he was preparing, we watched him make it, it tasted fabulous! You have to reserve, I recommend the bar seating in order to see clearly, but regardless, just book it, support this place, guaranteed great!
